Weight lifting at 73

by John Vella
(Malta)

I have a history of arthritis problems, getting to be a nuisance as more time pick up.

At present my problem is when I do not train I feel my arthritis and when I do my training I am fine.
I stopped smoking over 30 years and stopped drinking some 5 years, am a vegetarian
I am doing one hour a day weight lifting. Considering my age a lot of repetition with 15 lb weight and dead wight lifting with 40 lb weight. In between each exercise of 20 repetitions I do walking.
This I have been doing for the last year, seem there is no problems so far and feel good.
Mind you I have been a sportsman all my life from a cross country runner to playing soccer. But I stopped awhile back till I started feeling weak this what made me pick up training again
Is there anyone out there that can share his experience.
